I find that statement more than a little ironic because DEI is exactly what China and the CCP would NEVER do. For them, hiring, firing, promoting based on say, homosexuality, would seem insane.
Sooner or later someone will have to square that circle and decide which group, the CCP or the SJWs are the Marxists, because it can't be both.

It's how the Communists got to where they are. James Lindsay is my favorite go-to connecting the dots. https://newdiscourses.com/2024/11/communism-2-0-industrial-communism-james-lindsay/
DEI often mirrors communism in:
Group Struggle: Identity defines the conflict.
- Exploitation: Cultural, not just economic.
- Overthrow: Aiming to dismantle oppressive norms.
- Collective vs. Individual: Group rights over personal merit?
- Equity: Redistributing not wealth, but opportunities and power.
Would a communist oppose these aspects if applied to class struggle? Could there be a structural similarity in these revolutions?
And all use demonization of a group / groups to gain & keep power.
