I think that is more a function older folks having hit their highest productivity levels years before, often lack vision for new ideas, and are resistant to change. Cheaper younger folks are available and desirable for their creativity. Often those older folks see their advancement limited and seek to market themselves elsewhere. I've seen this before the DEI nonsense took effect.
Or, it could be that stupid racist middle managers go along with stupid racist dei hires in hr, and push the excellence level employees out to make it easier for the less desirable, but black hires.
Before DEI was female affirmative action. Way back in about 1986 in Canada there was the 50/50 rule. If you were a 50 year old man making $50,000 a year you had a 50/50 chance of keeping your job.
One fellow I know making $70,000 a year, and he was good at his job, had to train his 30 year old female assistant. To replace him. He was ordered to by his female boss. He did, Got fired. And she was immediately hired back at $170,000 a year. This would have been late ‘80s. $170 gs in the late ‘80s was serious money.
Been around longer than most people realize in big business. That’s why the 40-50+ white males are always jumping jobs IMO
