Great investigative reporting by Chris and Ryan. No wonder why the F-35 has been delayed and over budget for decades. This is a national security threat.
DEI must be destroyed with a combination of criminal and civil lawsuits. La Wanda Moorer is the perfect name for a demoralized DEI commissar. The amount of shareholder value and societal progress we have destroyed in the name of DEI is staggering, could well be in the trillions.
DEI is so evil, being hired should be on the basis of merit not skin color. Shame shame on Lockheed & others. Affirmative Action did the same thing. George Floyd was a drug addict & died from an overdose.
I think that is more a function older folks having hit their highest productivity levels years before, often lack vision for new ideas, and are resistant to change. Cheaper younger folks are available and desirable for their creativity. Often those older folks see their advancement limited and seek to market themselves elsewhere. I've seen this before the DEI nonsense took effect.
Or, it could be that stupid racist middle managers go along with stupid racist dei hires in hr, and push the excellence level employees out to make it easier for the less desirable, but black hires.
Before DEI was female affirmative action. Way back in about 1986 in Canada there was the 50/50 rule. If you were a 50 year old man making $50,000 a year you had a 50/50 chance of keeping your job.
One fellow I know making $70,000 a year, and he was good at his job, had to train his 30 year old female assistant. To replace him. He was ordered to by his female boss. He did, Got fired. And she was immediately hired back at $170,000 a year. This would have been late ‘80s. $170 gs in the late ‘80s was serious money.
How fortunate Ames v. Dept of Youth Services just established the same burden of proof for “majority” plaintiffs bringing discrimination cases. These employees need to sue Lockheed.
One of the worst industries for ageism is…the legal profession. Many years ago I noted (in South Florida) that all ads for new associates specified “3-5 years experience”. That’s code for young. I myself was forced out just as I was turning 50 (along with several others in my age range). And yet politicians serve until they’re well into their 80’s and beyond.
As for discrimination against white males…disgusting. It started many years ago and has negatively impacted everything and everyone, including the men who were so heinously sidelined. A reason to NEVER vote Democrat. Under their rule, this was the desired outcome. It’s just plain sick.
I’ve a number of good friends, attorneys, that were pushed out in their mid-50’s. White males, accomplished professionals. Very hard to get hired at that age. “Partnership” is no protection.
I will add my personal experience with age discrimination. At age 66 I was summarily fired for no reason whatsoever. I have had no negative annual reviews had always performed as agreed. Was given a separation agreement had a lawyer look it over and in our conversation the lawyer said I talk to you at least once a week Yes they broke the law but you can’t prove anything. Get the best deal you can and move on. The legal system is not designed to ever provide justice. Its sole function is to protect the status quo’s.
Fines are not enough. Companies and Universities that have been deliberately racist and discriminatory should be dismantled. There should be no coming back from this sin.
C-Suite is a different level of dysfunction. To get into the C-Suite one needs a certain willingness to be a get-along person, not a boat rocker, and capable of stroking the boss and the board. The egos at the CEO, CFO, and board positions is insane. Far greater than actual competence. The reason companies get into stock price or financial trouble is because the C-Suite is an incestuous mess. Yes, there are sometimes minority candidates put there to "make the numbers" for stroking the company's rep on some external social credit metric. But C-suite is a different beast entirely.
It is essentially an exclusive club. This is true in professional firms as well. I would be curious if the tech and investment fund worlds operate similarly or by necessity and performance driven metrics they need to pretty much retain as much meritocracy as possible ( i realize there are many into woke stuff so I am asking more generically).
Lockheed's is a great place to start enforcing the law: let's not forget Lockheed was one of the places where Mr. Comey burnished his credentials as General Counsel on his way to the FBI.
Their attorneys advise them that stating "quotas" is black-and-white illegal, so instead use euphemisms for the same thing, e.g., "goals" or "looks like America."
Yeah, the left sure likes their euphemisms like "affirmative action" instead of racism, or "positive discrimination" as if such a thing could exist without the corresponding "negative discrimination", "wealth redistribution" instead of theft, "undocumented" instead of illegal, "planned parenthood" instead of children murder, etc.
LaWanda is the usual DIE hire. What she and others don't get is all the racism they practice calls in to question their own competence and professionalism. The glaring example is BO the Former Stench in the WH, who accomplished nothing, yet, he received awards such as "Ivy League" admissions, editor of the Harvard Law Review for which he wrote nothing, and the Nobel Peace (Political) Prize for doing nothing and he knew it as he said. And he became a billionaire. So, why wouldn't blacks of like character get on the DIE gravy train thinking they're getting over on whitey?
"La Wanda Moorer, the director of human resources ... " Why are the La Wanda's of America always put into these positions of authority? Start here and tell me a person who writes gibberish like the following sentences should be in any job other than mail clerk: “[T]he preference is for you to get there,” Moorer wrote. “If you are coming back and saying you can’t get there and it’s unnatural than [sic] I think that changes the conversation as a business area what risk are we willing to assume, and should we get into a situation where there is legal activity that takes place then you will be part of that process . . . . We haven’t ever been in a situation where we haven’t gotten there.”
The last part of the sentence sounds like a threat: "should we get into an area where there is legal activity to take place [if we are sued for anti-white discrimination] then you will be part of that process [you will pay the legal price along with everyone else].
Your guess is as good a mine what that last sentence means.
This manner of writing is an attempt at euphemism, an inability or unwillingness to write plainly.
Lockheed is, of course, a privately owned company, but it is a military contractor. This nonsense makes me wonder about the results of the Plain Writing Act:
In 2010, the US Office of Personnel Management announced that "The Act is designed 'to improve the effectiveness and accountability of Federal agencies to the public by promoting clear Government communication that the public can understand and use.'"
I just noticed that there is a bit of advice that contradicts the effort: "Avoid using gender-specific terminology." This standardizes the unfortunate use of plural pronouns to refer to singular antecedents, since most writers don't bother revising generalities into sentences with plural subjects. So you get constructions like "A man who works for the OPM must watch their usage to avoid appearing sexist" instead of "Men working for the . . .etc."
And I don't want to hear any of this "language evolves" BS, since academia has been encouraging such barbarisms by enforcing them for grades and by editing grammar handbooks.
A person writes like that for one of two reasons. Or both. 1. Because your thinking is muddled. I found in 40 years of lawyering that poor writing was frequently the result of poor thinking or analysis. 2. More intentionally, it is a way to obfuscate your meaning - so you can't be pinned down.
In this case I suspect there is some Peter Principle-level incompetence involved. I took that last sentence as you did, as a not so veiled threat. "No one's ever not done what we want [so be very careful, fella!].
She is black and went to Santa Clara & supposedly an English major? Also she was a grad of Golden gate university, she got a law degree there, the college no longer is teaching law.
Executing the DEI agenda may feel right to some, but it mostly just feels good because it’s worth another few million in executive bonuses at bonus time.
Thank you for airing the charges of egregious, willful discrimination leveled by the whistleblower against Lockheed-Martin. The hubris demonstrated in applying their version of DEI at the expense of the law and of treating their employees fairly is breathtaking. My hope is this leads to charges filed by the Civil Rights division under Harmeet Dhillon against such brazen disregard of the law by the leading Defense contractor in the U.S. They need to be held to account.
Does anyone know if Moorer still works for Lockheed Martin? Can she, individually be charged with Civil Rights violations if she still doesn't work for Lockheed? Until these horrible people are arrested, charged, and convicted they will continue to perpetuate waste, fraud, abuse and so much more.
The only thing that will "save" these sorts of people (speaking particularly about the defense industry contractors) is their very, very, VERY deep pockets... stuffed with our (increasingly inflated) tax dollars.
In the face of Trump's executive order this is outrageous! I hope it gets brought to the administrations attention and the senior executives that pushed it are called before Congress and held accountable for violating the civil rights code and the executive order.
Most people never knew how long DEI has been alive and kicking white employees, specifically white men, in the teeth! Some of us have taken the exams and passed them with the top scores in a group of potential candidates. I got letters showing my hiring preference points adding up to more than 100 points on a 100 point scale due to my veteran preference. But they weren’t hiring white men, so I never got the jobs.
I’m the better person. I’ve been a manager, but never used DEI when making decisions, so fuck them! I retired at 50, did those government employees?
The Civil Rights Act of '64 was the beginning of the end of white civilization. Affirmative action is the most destructive element and has had a profoundly negative impact on everything. The destruction of white civilization has always been the goal.

Been around longer than most people realize in big business. That’s why the 40-50+ white males are always jumping jobs IMO
I think that is more a function older folks having hit their highest productivity levels years before, often lack vision for new ideas, and are resistant to change. Gonna need you to prove that.

Well until companies end ageism, the biggest discrimination, it's nice, but not enough.
One of the worst industries for ageism is…the legal profession. Many years ago I noted (in South Florida) that all ads for new associates specified “3-5 years experience”. That’s code for young. Gary, you’ve just hit on the great unreported story of our time. Ageism. It is rampant, particularly in the IT realm.
Fines are not enough. Companies and Universities that have been deliberately racist and discriminatory should be dismantled. There should be no coming back from this sin.
Start with the C-Suite.

Real systemic racism.
Lockheed's is a great place to start enforcing the law: let's not forget Lockheed was one of the places where Mr. Comey burnished his credentials as General Counsel on his way to the FBI.
This happens in every industry. the top leaders in the company are also awarded their variable payouts each year based on their DEI quotas being met.
Point of order: You mean "DEI goals."

Obama stole our tax money
"La Wanda Moorer, the director of human resources ... " Why are the La Wanda's of America always put into these positions of authority? Really. What is a "business area"?
The last part of the sentence sounds like a threat: "should we get into an area where there is legal activity to take place [if we are sued for anti-white discrimination] then you will be part of that process [you will pay the legal price along with everyone else].

The Office's website even includes a style guide: https://www.opm.gov/information-management/plain-language/
P.S.
I just noticed that there is a bit of advice that contradicts the effort: "Avoid using gender-specific terminology." No, Bill, it is publicly traded: https://investors.lockheedmartin.com/?_gl=1*v1ru5n*_gcl_au*MTk4NzYwMjEzMy4xNzUwMDg4Mzc5
She is black and went to Santa Clara & supposedly an English major? Also she was a grad of Golden gate university, she got a law degree there, the college no longer is teaching law.
Smh. Grade school level incompetence for below average pupils. It's the best they can do in a DEI hire.
Because they are willing to lie and steal
Executing the DEI agenda may feel right to some, but it mostly just feels good because it’s worth another few million in executive bonuses at bonus time.

Hard to imagine that this type of discrimination hasn’t occurred in many large companies
It has, and does.
The only thing that will "save" these sorts of people (speaking particularly about the defense industry contractors) is their very, very, VERY deep pockets... stuffed with our (increasingly inflated) tax dollars.
