You may have missed this. I thought the same as you did until I saw this. Absolutely stunning and without Musk we would never have known about ANY of it and it would be continuing until the end of time.

I tried to look up the details of this on the DOGE website.
I can forgive its dated aesthetics, but you can't sort or search for anything. This is website design 101. As such, I guess we'll just have to take Musk's word for it.
I have no doubt that fraud and waste exist in the federal government and would be happy to see it eliminated, but I remain skeptical of Musk's words and his intentions.
I keep coming back to the fact that we encouraged the entire CIA workforce to resign by offering them buyout packages. *That* is indiscriminate and senseless. I don't see why this pattern wouldn't extend to DOGE's other efforts.
From the WSJ:
"The Central Intelligence Agency offered buyouts to its entire workforce Tuesday [Feb 4, 2025], in what officials said is a bid to bring the agency in line with President Trump’s priorities, including targeting drug cartels.
The CIA appeared to be the first intelligence agency to tell its employees that they can quit their jobs and receive about eight months of pay and benefits as part of Trump’s push to downsize the federal government. The offer last month made to most civilian federal agencies exempted some categories of federal workers, including those with national security roles."
First of all: the Wall Street Journal? Quite the bastion of reliable info there...
Second: "The Central Intelligence Agency offered buyouts to its entire workforce...". Who at the CIA made this offer to the entire workforce? Any possibility this is just a DTS power play to scare the populace- i.e. "See what Trump/Musk/DOGE are doing? They are about to dismantle the ENTIRE CIA! The horror! Be afraid!"

Wow. After the last 70yrs or so, you’re defending the CIA?
If Musk can’t do it…. No one will

So now you don't like the website because "This is website design 101"? How creative of you.
