No question- I just want to drop a name and a few resources.

Gloria Ladson-Billings wrote ‘Toward a Critical Race Theory of Education’ and ‘Dreamkeepers’ which explicitly state how critical race theory is imputed into teacher pedagogical approaches in their k-12 classroom. She also edited a book called ‘Critical Race Theory Perspectives on Social Studies’. Chapter 2 by Cynthia Tyson clearly and plainly state how she implemented CRT techniques in her classroom. I’ve done interviews and written articles on this topic, but now that you know about these items, I will not be needed. God bless you as you continue to reveal truth in the zeal of justice.

I cited her talking to the EL Representative specialist in South Carolina. I recorded that conversation and gave it to the Freedom Caucus. Knowing Ladson-Billings and Tate helped me bring the walls down. Then all on her own spilled the beans about trying to recruit co-conspirators in Lexington, South Carolina public schools. Recently, Fox News Digital ran a story on me revealing syllabi and the college of education vision at the University South Carolina. If you're interested in reading about it. Here's the link. Thank you for all you're doing. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/university-south-carolina-education-courses-centered-social-justice-anti-racism

Hello Chris, congratulations on the book, and thank you for your work. My question is: What is your opinion on the Civil Rights Act, specifically the disparate impact theory? I am sure you are familiar with Caldwell's idea of America's 2nd Constitution, one that supersedes the original and is wholly based on social justice and civil rights law. Even if we get rid of things like DEI, CRT, affirmative action, etc., I believe that the core issue still remains with the Civil Rights Act, as detailed by Caldwell.

For those interested, Rufo answers this specific question at 35:40. https://www.youtube.com/live/ApdfcijsQ2g?feature=share

I second that question. Richard Hanania, who favorably reviewed the book, argues that the CRA and the bureaucracies and diktats it spawned, is a huge factor in Wokeism.

Expand full comment

How do we overcome the problem of such vast institutional capture? The universities, in particular, seem like an insurmountable problem- and of course they’re now turning out converts by the thousands.

Expand full comment

Excellent question. Almost overwhelming. But same applies to Journalism schools and Teacher Training programs. I have the book and looking to find a glimmer of hope that we can push back.

Expand full comment

Does Rufo have hope? What’s the path? There’s no question, imho, that we outnumber the crazies by a significant margin, but election fraud and biased media currently nullifies our majority.

Expand full comment

I agree that the sane among us far outnumber the crazies, but the legacy media and social media have successfully been taken over or founded by these highly intelligent leftist crazies. It is going to be a challenge to plan and implement a successful counter pushback. But it is starting to happen. It is a long term undertaking. It will likely take a few decades to supplant the crazies. But our way of life, our Western Civilization, our traditional standard are all at stake.

I’m quite in touch. The scale of. March through Our Institutions is massive. I don’t yet see the widespread popularity of the pushback, but it is happening.

Thank you for being a voice of reason to the American people. It means a lot. We are being beaten up by this culture war. Your ideas seem to resonate with those of James Lindsay. He has been willing to go it alone though and has been all but banished from msm. Hopefully will find your way into America's a broader market. Do you consider yourself to be a friend of James Lindsay or a competitor? Is it possible for you to gather forces with him, against a much bigger opponent (Marxists in the schools)?

Expand full comment

I’ve worked closely with James and consider him a friend.

Lindsay could be a good ally (along with a number of other potential allies such as Peter Boghossian...) but caution is needed as he comes from a very different faith perspective as he is part of the New Atheism movement (advocates the view that superstition, religion, and irrationalism should not simply be tolerated. Instead, they should be criticised, countered, examined, and challenged by rational argument, especially when they exert strong influence on the broader society, such as in government, education, and politics. Major figures of New Atheism include Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Daniel Dennett, and Ayaan Hirsi Ali.. From, Wikipedia) which basically regards Christianity as a foolish myth that should be squelched.

In other words, they are great co-warriors the anti-woke & truth in biology movements but I'm concerned about a potential conflict of values/ideas/goals down the road in any "partnership" with them regarding belief in a high power, and an all wise Creator and Lawgiver who has the final word on all matters. Much prayer needed!

Lindsay doesn't see the connection between all the new atheism and "gay rights" stuff he supported and where we are now.

In a sense he wants to return to when the car had just driven off the cliff, but before it crashed into the side of the canyon.

This is WA state and the gender affirming cult is entrenched.

Everywhere I turn more schools, hospitals & states are promoting gender affirmation. How can we protect children when the government is supporting child abuse, mutilation & criminalizing parents who do not comply ?

Ban it at the state level.

Chris: Thank you for your brilliant work! I would be interested in hearing what you think are the root causes for the appeal of leftism. Marcuse and Angela Davis et al can go nowhere without receptive ears. Do you think that modernity itself with its deracination and the destruction of family and land as a source of power and identity is the central cause? And if so then even if we win the current struggle will not these deep forces simply return?

Expand full comment

Of course, the loss of the family creates a huge opening for radicals who promise redistribution, security, and a cause. The problem for us is that reconstructing the family is not something that can be done easily—it's not clear that it can be done successfully at all.

Love the optimism- thanks. Big mountain to climb. Amazing how quickly it came together so perfectly for the crazies.

What information is difficult for you to obtain and crucial to enabling your work?

Inside information from institutions. Needs sources on the inside willing to provide it to me.

Which institutions? I’ve got some material from a couple of large corporations you haven’t covered yet.

Chris, you ignore the role of the powerful patrons of these student radicals. No way could they have taken over the institutions without such sponsors as, for instance the Ford Foundation (disowned by the Ford family, btw). Herbert Marcuse whom you cite was patronized by the top levels of the Establishment. That this radical revolution in the US was caused by various individual radicals or constituency groups, is an optical illusion which should fool no one. It was no more spontaneous in that sense than Summer of Floyd in 2020.

So then, perhaps a fuller accounting is called for which would specifically dispel the popular impressions of spontaneity and the idea that the Movements are organic? This is important - those impressions give The Movement more apparent democratic legitimacy than it has. It is a means of simulating democracy to bypass elections.

There is major NGO/Charity support, as you suggest - "The Borg." And what are such NGOs/Charities but capital funds managed by PMCs? They are means of paying executive salaries and stipends to cadres, while influencing politics, etc. They generate what Wesley Yang calls "Astroturfed Pseudo-Consensus," as-in "Everybody/All the Best People believe..."

Expand full comment

The Ford Foundation was radical back in the late 1960s as it was responsible for the terrible notion of "community control" which has a stronge tinge of anti Semitism and led to the 1968 teachers strike in 1968

Sol

Hi Chris, this is Sol Stern. You know my work on education for 20 years at Citry Journal before you arrived and you cite my article on Paolo Freiire. Could you explain why the media department at Harper Collins (specifically Tina Andreadis) refused to respond to my calls? I called five times, first to try to get a review copy and then to ask some questions about the publication and promotion of your book. Perhaps you could get your publisher to finally take my questions, or better still you could answer my questions by phone or email. After all, like you, I'm a member of the media (for over fifty years.) We both believe -- don't we? -- that all journalists should have their questions answered by public figures.

These sorts of bias response policies have been proliferating on the college campuses, but the one we're going to discuss today is from Virginia Tech. It is officially called the Bias Intervention and Response Team or the BIRT. Students there are encouraged to report ill-considered opinions or crass jokes that they hear on campus. The Bias Response Team can investigate. And even if it decides that the student's speech was covered by the First Amendment, it can invite the student and the complainer to a voluntary conversation at the dean's office. A group called Speech First sued over this.
