Do y'all think cutting these contracts will encourage firms such as Deloitte and McKinsey to focus on productive consulting efforts?

They will just move on to the next racket

It's all tennis to them.

Very little consulting offers genuine benefit to the client.

One of the most popular reasons for hiring a consulting firm is when the CEO has to make what will be an unpopular decision (e.g., layoffs) and needs an outside party to blame. "McKinsey told us we have to do it."

A CEO can also use a consultant's report to make him or herself look good. "You see, McKinsey loves my acquisition plan."

Basically, when you are considering hiring a firm you either directly or indirectly let them know what their recommendation must be before they commence work.

"...productive..." is the key word.

Thanks for following the money and revealing the rot. DOGE must say afuera all DEI. Commissars are raising the price of healthcare and education, while outcomes worsen: https://yuribezmenov.substack.com/p/fire-dei-esg-hr-commissar-administrative-bloat

Biden jumped the DEI shark with the high-profile appointments of Ketanji Brown Jackson, Kamala Harris, Richard “Rachel” Levine, Pete Buttigieg, and Sam Brinton (to name just a few). These were people who gained their positions not because of acumen, aptitude, and competency, but rather because their addition to the government payroll checked the right, illiberal boxes.

Trump should keep DEI, but re-define it to mean Distinction, Excellence, and Intelligence.

Hey! I don't think Pete Buttigieg's appointment as Sec of Transport had anything to do with him being gay. He *was* underqualified in terms of anything actually related to the role, but he *was* very good on TV, and there wasn't much chance of him working his way up to governor or senator in Indiana, so they tried to serve him up a national podium as a springboard for a future presidential run. He didn't really do anything that attention-getting in the role, as it turned out, but I think that speaks well of him, considering it's a lot easier to screw up big than to have a big win in that particular area.

Suffice it to say that Pete is the only one on your list who would do fine on Rogan & that's why they wanted him on the "national team" so bad.

Nothing with his being gay, but everything with his being a 'red-diaper baby,' raised by Communists. His father translated Gramsci's rambling prison notebooks into English.

I dunno. With a last name pronounced "ButtEggEgg" the appointment was a forgone "Diversity" conclusion.

Buttigieg is a Maltese surname meaning 'chicken monger.'

I am encouraged that the new administration will, in fact, get rid of the "DEI" stuff, and move swiftly. The Woke will throw their tantrums and file their lawsuits but they have no legal grounds on which to fight it. It's clearly discrimination and they will lose. I just hope that the new administration will not be conned into delays. This is clearly an aspect the majority does not want in their government or society. Bulldoze it!

Expand full comment

Yes! The new admin should get rid of it hard and fast.

Sounds like a disciplined, focused & experienced attorney general will be especially important for this end. I'm sure the *next* person they submit for the role will be all those things. (Instead of none of them.)

DEI is a self-replicating ideology that purges the non-compliant while "evangelizing" and making more compliant adherents to spread their malevolent intolerance. Very similar to Mao who replaced the old with the new. But this one is more insidious as it had pulled the wool over many eyes being disguised as morally superior to the western civilization that our country was built upon. We need a total reversal. Out with DEI and in with Western Civilization.

“These contracts, and the racialist ideology on which they are predicated, do nothing to serve the national interest. When Donald Trump takes office in January, he should dismantle the diversity apparatus, which threatens his agenda and the principle of equality before the law. DEI is designed to favor ideologues and consultancy grift instead of competent or public-spirited officials. The second Trump administration must put a stop to these contracts immediately, lest they become one more corrupting force in an already deeply compromised federal government.”— DEI is graft, corruption and paying off your friends…

He needs to hit the ground running in order for them to be dead and buried and impossible to revive by the end of his term.

Getting rid of DEI should be job #1 on Elon’s and Vivek’s to-do list. After that…so many choices. Maybe start with HUD, the cause of the 2008 financial meltdown and on track to cause another one with the same dumb policies. Then let’s get the government out of the student loan business. So many choices…

Get rid of Department of Education as well and among the first to go. Parents have first responsibility to educate their children and decisions need to be local . Restore respect for western civilization which is the envy of the world

AGREED 100% Education should be local. SCHOOL CHOICE should be everywhere. Restore **real education. Reading, math, HISTORY. A super unintended consequence of eliminating the Dept of Ed would be that the Teachers' Unions will be gone!

As outrageous as it is, Federal government spending on DEI pales in comparison to the cost of “compliance” throughout the economy. That cost is not only measured in dollars, but also in poor quality, incompetence, safety issues (think Boeing), disillusionment and demoralization. It needs to be thoroughly rooted out and replaced with a renewed American commitment to excellence. Praying that is on its way to happening.

Expand full comment

Definitely. The federal government is a great place to start (and clearly needs it), but I think it's going to take everyday Americans getting involved to get rid of the ideology more broadly.

HR departments must get back to the idea of hiring for competence rather than the colour of an applicant's skin, or gender. Get rid of all these courses telling staff how to avoid microaggressions etc and tell everyone to treat all their colleagues as they would like to be treated themselves. So simple, t's free and you don't need to go on a course for that.

HR departments should be demoted to what their job really is -- clerks that help those managers who need staff. Nothing more.

My school district received some of the money. They spent it on less subtle DEI programs like social emotional learning.

That voodoo is taught in elementary schools by AWFL women. Those women push the “everyone is the same” bs message, ignoring the fact in human nature that everyone is different, in many different ways.

My son, along with the other boys in his school, were prime targets of this voodoo because they didn’t quietly sit still like the girls. Their normal boy energy and behavior was targeted as abnormal and a problem. SEL is an attempt to reprogram boys normal behavior and make them into robots that follow orders. It’s a scam and a money grab.

History will show that what is currently happening in public schools is “I was just following orders” type behavior. Hardly anyone is asking questions about the curriculum, the teaching methods, or the indoctrination by many of the teachers. When I asked those questions, guess who was the bad guy?

My two oldest kids survived that school and have been deprogrammed, but I have placed my youngest kids in different schools that are focused on education and not indoctrination.

As the cherry on top, the district also gave handsome raises to the administration positions.
