That cost is not only measured in dollars, but also in poor quality, incompetence, safety issues (think Boeing), disillusionment and demoralization. It needs to be thoroughly rooted out and replaced with a renewed American commitment to excellence. Praying that is on its way to happening.
HR departments must get back to the idea of hiring for competence rather than the colour of an applicant's skin, or gender. Get rid of all these courses telling staff how to avoid microaggressions etc and tell everyone to treat all their colleagues as they would like to be treated themselves. So simple, t's free and you don't need to go on a course for that.
Definitely. The federal government is a great place to start (and clearly needs it), but I think it's going to take everyday Americans getting involved to get rid of the ideology more broadly.

HR departments should be demoted to what their job really is -- clerks that help those managers who need staff. Nothing more.
