Pre-ordered your book. Read it in a day. Excellent work. Outstanding. Impressed with how you traced the history - from the founder's theories to the destructive outcomes, which are still taking place right before our eyes. Wishing you continued success. 🙏🏽

Funny story about Angela Davis. Spring '89 mid morning, My husband, 29 years old at the time, was playing with our toddler in the neighborhood tot lot. Angela, rather tipsy, came out of gym where she was attending a teen basketball game with friends and struck up a conversation making sure he (UCB grad) knew who she was. Within minutes she made a sexual advance, my husband declined, Angela responded " I am sure your wife is satisfied". LOL

Yep, as a local family, our lives have crossed paths with many of these characters. Angela was around 45 at the time she tried to pick up my WASP husband. Butler's good friend Avital Ronell was my massage client for several years before she left UCB to NYU. Rick Ayers, Bill's bro, started the first small school with a emphasis on Social Justice, my oldest attended. As a local organizer for safe schools and neighborhoods free of gang control, I came in contact with these critical race/gender studies folks all the time, i.e. Barry Krisberg, Boalt Law prof, major role in CA juvenile justice.

Many excellent comments and observations within this podcast. A transcript would be very useful in getting out specific comments to other sites.

Can’t wait to read this. To Techera’s point, CRT is not borne of American ideals, constitutionality, equality before the law, etc. and more insidiously, the growing practice of ‘citation justice’ erasure will ensure histories like Rufo’s ideological genealogy remain obscured and untold, washing away origins in Marcuse and Freire et al. (cuz male and/or white), cementing ideological inception in our youth’s minds making them think CRT ideas ARE authentically homegrown. My project Luminas substack will carefully trace the development of this foreign leftist ideology within English Studies scholarship specifically. Inflection point in the 1990s. I aim to reach scholars who are also familiar with their discipline’s literature enough to trace similar developments (communications, religion, history, etc.). The more of us who work to expose this long march, the more of us there will be willing to act. And we must earn the unsuspecting everyday American’s trust because all power centers parrot the CRT narrative. Thanks for the concise presentation of these theorists, Mr. Rufo!

America desperately needs a Working Class movement in some shape or form: a well-funded organization that can effectively represent the interests, hopes, and dreams of ordinary working Americans in the political arena, especially on the twin issues of trade and immigration. But for that you need a new and exciting idea around which to organize. Absent which nothing will crystalize.

Chris, I have an idea I’d like to run by you. Specifically about red states investing heavily in creating 1A level STEM research phd programs at state universities. There are few in red states aside from UT that I can think of. Can we find a time to discuss? If you Google me, you’ll see I am a serious person.
