Thanks for sharing. It’s shocking but not surprising how few paid subscribers you have. I pray more people will get on board. You’re doing God’s work, exposing the naked truth but as importantly, coming up with real life solutions and then energizing people to make a difference.
Good luck, Chris. I am proud to support you and the important work you do. Quality over quantity. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous, subscriber-filled New Year!
I am unable to afford to monthly subscribe but I do wish that more would offer the ability to make a one time donation or when I can afford. Just a thought.
Yes, good idea. I've been a paid subscriber for a long time, but am pausing that for financial reasons. Will unpause sometime in the future, but occasional donations would work well too.
Hey Chris, hope you read these comments. First, I think you are doing a great job. Keep it up. Second, I have a “complaint”. The choices for supporting you are too limited. I contribute $8/month and would gladly do $15. Alas, the next option is $250/year. I support a number of causes and never seen such limited contribution options. I thought you might want to talk to your payment processor. Hope other people may be in the similar mood.
A great substack. Kudos on bringing the Minnesota fraud to a wide audience, your influence is clear. On that one topic I think you should share credit with the MN folks at Powerline blog, who have repeatedly documented this unbelievable scam but never got the attention your column pulled in.
Done! Your work on the MN fraud(s) alone is worth the price, make that—the investment. Thank you and keep up the good work. If anyone else is “considering,” just skip two coffees a month…!
Your accomplishments have been impressive, which is why I am a paid subscriber. Can I ask you to leverage your influence to get Congress to take away the Federal Reserve's ability to set interest rates? There is no evidence that a low interest rate causes inflation. The first Trump administration proved that. High interest rates cause hardship, especially for families. It should be a permeant 0-2%. Economic policies and the free market should be driving the economy., not a group of twelve behind closed doors. Bureaucracy is not democracy. The Fed is irredeemably political at this point and everyone stays mad at it. A think tank, like the Manhattan Institute, could make a compelling argument to change this policy, giving our politicians the cover they need to bring about change.
Congress is a tough nut to crack. Most major legislation requires 60 votes in the Senate, meaning, you have to convince a large number of Dems to defect.
i’ve been a paid subscriber since your Substack started I think and I’m forever grateful for the work you’re doing. I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas and a very, very happy and prosperous new year.
UPDATE: We're about to cross 100 new paid subscribers, let's keep it going!
We're across 100 and heading toward 200, thanks to all who have upgraded.
Let’s get Brown President Christina Paxson fired to cap off the year: https://yuribezmenov.substack.com/p/chris-paxson-brown-open-letter-ella-cook
Cheers to that, Yuri!
She’s a train wreck…I appreciate your exposing essays…
If you and Chris could get Paxson fired, I'd gift 20 subscriptions.

Christine Paxson would be a nice target. Please remember Ella Cook! LR
Great work, Chris. I'm proud to be a paid subscriber--one of the all-too-few. C'mon people, let's help a hard working (real) journalist out.
Appreciate your support!
You do a great job.
Slouching Towards Bethlehem is not like other Substacks either: https://grahamcunningham.substack.com/
It seeks to provide perspective on what drives the 'news'....the social-psychological undercurrents shaping the 21st c. zeitgeist

Good idea, let me see if I can set that up!
I've used it on other substacks under "buy me a coffee" which is for occasional small donations for those who can't afford to commit to an annual one.
Thanks!,
Thank you!

Okay, looked into this, and if you click the $250/yr option, you can manually enter $180/yr, which is the equivalent of $15/mo.

Yes, of course, made sure to note their contribution in the piece here: https://www.city-journal.org/article/minnesota-welfare-fraud-somalia-al-shabaab
