Giovanni Falcone had the same idea of following financial transactions of the Cosa Nostra in Sicily. Doing this he found out who the criminals were and what they were doing. He was able to bring to trial . more than 400 Sicilian Mafia members. I wish we could indict Newsom and his henchmen.
California joins other blue areas in the United States and Britain and Canada and Germany (etc.) as places which are essentially controlled by the professional managerial class. This cohort is status-conscious, ideological, and completely undemocratic. The will of the people are irrelevant: they serve their own class interest, which is dressed up in universalist language (human rights, inclusivity, equity, etc.). This disconnect - this bait-and-switch - allows them to maintain a sense of moral superiority WHILE they damage society, drain the treasury, and protect their own social prerogatives.
