There have been at least five ceasefires between Israel and Hamas since Hamas took control of Gaza in 2007. Hamas has violated every one of those ceasefires! Why would Israel now let Hamas remain in Gaza and rearm itself? That would meet the definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting the result to be different.
