We are passing laws in legislature after legislature.
The past month has been a whirlwind. First, I fought off a series of attacks from The New York Times, Washington Post, The Atlantic, and MSNBC—even forcing the WaPo to issue an embarrassing retraction and exposing television host Joy Reid as a petulant fraud.
But more importantly, while the media was distracted, we were also winning battle after battle in state legislatures. With the most recent bill in Arizona signed into law, we have now passed anti-critical race theory legislation in nine states—AZ, TX, TN, FL, AR, OK, NH, IA, ID—protecting 75 million Americans from state-sanctioned racism.
In these places, public schools can no longer promote the principles of race essentialism, collective guilt, and racial superiority theory. Parents will now have the power to ensure that their local schools do not engage in the pedagogical abuse that is often associated with critical race theory.
We are building a movement, turning critical race theory into one of America's most important issues and racking up concrete victories in state after state. Let's keep moving forward.
