So well said, Mr. Rufo. There are many ways to live, but only one reality. No doubt people will one day look back on this dark period when a social contagion took root and gape in disbelief at the tragic folly of it all. Oh, the humanity…

So easy to talk about the trans-thing, but seemingly impossible to take corrective action, especially in the US; how is it that the hapless Brits have taken the lead on fixing “trans”.

I feel sorry for the few who are truly trans. I think of sexuality as a bell-shaped curve. One with a slightly convex plateau top, steep side slopes, and asymptotic ends (where the tranies dwell) males to the left, women to the right. On one hand, I can’t imagine what they must think, or feel; on the other hand, their claim to humanity is as great as mine.

When it comes to treatment. Should they be affirmed (and if so as what?), or should they be pushed up the side-slopes of the bell-curve (gay territory), or up to the edge of the “normal” plateau? Do male tranies ever get treated with extra testosterone? (You have male genitals . . so . . let’s make you a “better” man - seems logical?)

The most curious and disturbing thing about the trans issue is the vast amount of money and effort behind the trans promotional campaign, and how effective it has been (to the point that big league talking heads appear more concerned about pronouns than dead children). Who is behind it (I want names), and why are they promoting sexual transitions so enthusiastically. Also what is the matter with the AMA, the AAP, & the APA? Why do they want to turn, what I think would be a private, critical issue for a few people into a 3-ring circus?

No one is “truly” transsexual. There are rare cases of intersex births, but even most of those individuals have either XX or XY chromosomes that are easily identified. These babies may have discordant genitalia that requires intervention to reconcile the anatomy.

In regards to a “bell shaped curve” of sexual behaviors I disagree that there exists a continuum of sexual orientation. Where do pedophelia, beastiality, sado/masochism, fetishism ,etc. fit on such a curve. A scatter plot would be more accurate, although still imperfect.

The concept of “gender identity “ is the crux of this issue. Are there ways of thinking or behavior preferences that make a person male or female without regard to biological reality of XX/XY status? Is male/female merely a social construct? If so, why are such radical physical interventions required to affirm a person’s “gender identity?” The cognitive dissonance required to sustain this belief system is enormous. Like the Emperor’s new clothes , one small voice pointing out reality collapses the entire farce.

Expand full comment
Gym+Fritz's avatar

Thank you. Despite all of the talk about trans, you seldom hear about what percentage of babies don’t fall into the XX-XY dichotomy. It seems that the trans-promoters have cleverly pushed the trans-determining factors out of the hard biological realm and into that of soft psychology. Trans isn’t about science, it about feelings, and a massive amount of money; why some much money?

The weed available in "stores" today is NOT the weed I grew up indulging in on occasion back in the '80's. I won't touch it, and not because I don't miss the fun I used to have back then but because the few times I have indulged it immediately causes tachycardia, syncope, hyperthermia, and sweating-- a good 30 minutes of misery. It's not worth the hour or so of "thank god that's over hee hee hee". I couldn't imagine using that crap 24/7 like some folks now do and I know it's not a "normal" reaction but it's well enough known to be called "greening out" and is something I highly recommend NOT experiencing. That and the hideous chemicals I've read that they use on the plants is just a no for me. I wonder if the advent of this much more toxic weed is also contributing to these problems.

The cannabis connection is a commonality he had with many mass shooters, including the Highland Park, Uvalde, Sutherland Springs, TX. Aurora, CO and Parkland, Florida shooters. Also, the Tucson shooter, the Planned Parenthood shooter and others in Colorado. The Highland Park shooter was described in the Chicago Tribune as "an isolated stoner who lost touch with reality" by his peers. A guy who went on a killing spree in Rockford IL last year and killed his friend had gone over to his home to smoke some weed. It's a very idiosyncratic drug that affects different people differently.

The real danger is exactly as I have said before:

• Little children and innocents are being murdered.

• By young people destabilized — drugged, sterilized, surgically mutilated, confused, and radicalized by an ideology that tells them they are both sacred victims and righteous avengers.

• That is not an abstraction. It is flesh-and-blood horror.

To focus on whether naming it might cause “political opportunism” is obscene compared to the bodies of children in pews and classrooms.

The True Danger

• Children: vulnerable, dependent, and targeted — not just by bullets, but by the ideology itself.

• Families: grieving or complicit, either way shattered forever.

• Society: tolerating a cult that mutilates youth, then acts shocked when some lash out violently.

That is the danger.

Not reputations.

Not political jockeying.

Not media spin.

What Needs Saying Plainly

• The ideology of “gender identity” is not neutral. It is producing broken, sterilized, permanently adolescent bodies and minds.

• Some fraction of those — as we now see, far more than chance would predict — are turning violent, and specifically against Christians and children.

• That is the fact. That is the danger. And if it isn’t faced, more innocents will die.

“What else does this craving, and this helplessness, proclaim but that there was once in man a true happiness, of which all that now remains is the empty print and trace? This he tries in vain to fill with everything around him, seeking in things that are not there the help he cannot find in those that are, though none can help, since this infinite abyss can be filled only with an infinite and immutable object; in other words by God himself.”

If we're talking about Munchausen syndrome, which often comes up when the subject is enabling transgender kids in their delusions, 85-95% of the abusers are the mother. This may or may not be the case here, but I'd wager that is "why do people always seem to focus on the mother?"

Expand full comment
Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.'s avatar

Agreed about the probabilities on Munchausen.

But if the issue is some kind of masculinity wound, (which wouldn't be surprising) the father is definitely relevant. An unavailable or unattractive father figure can cause a lot of confusion in an adolescent boy.

In any case, reporters are supposed to ask questions, no? Andy Ngo's report makes it clear, in my mind at least, that someone needs to dig more deeply into the father's role.

Just the opposite in this case. The mother did not want to sign the papers but was pressured, probably by officials telling her that her son would commit suicide (the usual tactic with reluctant parents) if she did not. Her son was angry with her for not being more supported. On the other side, his father, very leftest, was very supportive of his son deciding he was a girl. I'm sure it gave him street creds with his friends.

“Charge the mother…” sounds like it’s based on the psychology of the 1970s. Was a father not involved? Yes, let’s find the source of the violence and who influenced it. We may all have to readjust our thinking and never use the language of the activists. He was not a person of the “gender assigned at birth” but was a male. He did not receive “gender affirming care” but received medical intervention that altered his body.

To state that his mother should be charged is very harsh. She did her best with a son who, throughout much of his life, was angry and depressed. When she signed the papers allowing him to change his sexual identity (as if ones sex could magically change by stating the lie) she confided to friends that she was deeply torn. Trying to appease a mentally ill child is an almost impossible task. She will live with her inability to help her sick child and the horror of what her son did for the rest of her life. Isn't that enough?

However, back in the 1990s, the breakthroughs associated with SSRIs, combined with advertisements on TV, started leading people to there can be quick fixes. We need to get away from the belief in quick fixes for our complex problems.

I am trans, transitioned at 48, am now 70. I was afflicted with gender dysphoria from as early as I can remember, and it dominated my life for 48 years. Fortunately, it did not prevent me from developing as a person and building a fulfilling life.

I never thought I was a woman, I just felt the overwhelming desire to be one. I don't think I am a woman now, but I live in the world as one, and that is what I wanted. I do consider it a mental illness, but for people like me, transition and surgery was the only way to end the mental anguish I lived with. So, it is real, but it is rare, and has nothing to do with the ideological and money making nightmare it has turned in to.

When I had to go to therapy and meetings 25 years ago I saw the beginnings of the "trans industry", people who made money off the mental illness. They were all on the left btw. I could see that they wanted to turn it into a movement and a cause. Today, they are convincing confused kids that their problem is their born sex, and they should do something about it.

These kids are not trans. They did not, like me at 3 or 4 years old, lay in bed and wish they could go back to the baby factory and be re-born in the opposite sex. Someone put the idea in their head much later in life.

So, it is a real thing, it is a curse I would not wish on anyone. I dealt with it and never regretted it. But what it happening in society with this issue today is not a real thing, it is a concocted reality that serves the agenda of various people.

I despise the LGBTQ movement, and people who build their entire personality and life on their sexual situation. I hope someday sanity and basic morality brings light to the whole issue, and people like me can get the help they need to deal with their problem, and innocent young people are not preyed upon by the malignant forces that seem to have taken control.

The cannabis connection is a commonality he has to many mass shooters, including the Highland Park, Uvalde, Sutherland Springs, Aurora, CO and Parkland, Florida shooters. While we don't know if he was taking SSRIs, we know that there's a connection between starting cannabis use at a young age and mental deterioration.
